At the forefront of the transmedia revolution, Hollywood-based Identity FX, Inc. has purchased and installed a Mistika 4K colour-grading and stereoscopic 3D system. The investment delivers a new category of comprehensive 2D and Stereo 3D production and post production services that closes the loop in the production pipeline. With the newly-installed Mistika at the core of its service offerings, Identity FX now provides a compelling combination of services that uniquely positions the studio to deliver camera-to-delivery, 2D and Stereo 3D services to its client base of Hollywood studios, feature film, television and commercial production companies worldwide.

Identity FX produces visual effects, titles, and stereoscopic 3D across the media spectrum and Mistika will serve as the lynch-pin of the company’s services offering for film, television and commercials projects, creating a collaborative and seamless digital workflow.

“Identity FX has invested significant resources to provide the market with a comprehensive 2D and Stereo 3D pipeline utilising Mistika as its core,” affirms David Scott Van Woert, Producer and Co-Founder of Identity FX. “With a compelling new service offering built around the Mistika platform, we are taking advantage of leading edge technology innovations to close significant gaps at every level of the pipeline and deliver an extremely high calibre of 2D / Stereo 3D production and post that we feel is unparalleled in the industry. We’ve had the distinguished honour of working on some very prominent feature films and commercials, most recently in the stereoscopic 3D arena. And while we’ve achieved some major successes, we’ve always paid close attention to our workflow and how we can make it more effective and efficient.”

Geoff Mills, Director of SGO Global Sales and Operations states: “Identity FX’s status as an established and leading U.S. post production house, firmly anchors Mistika as a vital ‘must have’ asset that provides the best solutions available, across the globe today. By implementing Mistika at such an exciting time, Identity FX has effectively adopted ground-breaking technology, and we look forward to working closely with them as their business continues to grow.” Geoff Mills adds: “With Identity FX’s impressive credits, coupled with the infrastructure they are developing to handle technically complex shows, the facility is uniquely positioned to bring Mistika’s incredibly powerful toolset and workflow to the market.”

Identity FX and SGO will also work closely together and will play a major role in introducing the key benefits of Mistika’s colour grading and Stereo 3D technology to the market in the U.S. Geoff expands: “Identity FX offers the ideal environment in which to showcase the unbridled power of the Mistika’s toolset. We are working closely with them at an exciting time in the industry, as the demand for more sophisticated, integrated and comprehensive 2D and advanced Stereo 3D production requirements continues to expand.”

“Our close relationship with SGO Mistika represents a significant win for Identity FX and our clients.” explains Leo Vezzali Co-Founder and Stereoscopic Supervisor of the studio, “We believe this new relationship will also yield far-reaching benefits to our colleagues in the industry as well. By teaming up with SGO, we’re enabling them to show their prospective customers just what a fully-loaded, fully integrated Mistika system can do in feature film and commercial production settings.” Leo concludes: “We are also working closely with SGO to explore ways to ensure industry-popular applications – for example, those critical to a stereo production pipeline, work seamlessly in the overall workflow. This will result in the kind of workflow experience all of our customers clamour for.”
