UHD 4k displays offer unparalleled levels of image quality for resolution rich advertising and information displays. Providing at least four times the resolution of traditional High Definition displays this new generation of monitor is not only perfect for information dense control room applications but brings a clarity to moving and still images that really catches the eye.
There are two accepted screen formats currently available. UHD (or QFHD) is the most common. These screens provide four Full HD (Quad Full High Definition) image quadrants with a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels providing a 16:9 or 1.78:1 aspect ratio. Input to these screens can be from either four HD sources or from single or dual computer sources via DisplayPort or HDMI.
UHD or True 4k?
The other type of screens are classed as 4k or True 4k and have a slightly higher resolution than the UHD screen. With a native pixel resolution of 4096 x 2160 (1.90:1 ratio) these screens comply to the DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) standard which was established as a standard for digital cinemas.
