Bad Robot choose SGO Mistika for major productions including “Star Trek Into Darkness”

The prolific film-making team behind the rebooted ‘Star Trek’ franchise, Bad Robot Productions, has invested in a Mistika conform and Stereo 3D system to serve as the centrepiece of its rapidly growing in-house production services operation, Kelvin Optical. Already lined up for a variety of projects at Bad Robot, Mistika will be significantly involved in the finishing of Star Trek Into Darkness.

The Farm invests in Mistika for broadcast and commercial projects and future innovation

The Farm Group, award-winning London-based full-service post production facility, has significantly added to its colour grading and workflow resources through the purchase of a Mistika system at its Soho Headquarters. Following an extensive search for a future-proof solution that would move the facility beyond HD capability, the timing was ideal for The Farm to invest in Mistika.

The Look rocks Mistika with stunning Colour Grade of epic Queen Concert film: ‘Hungarian Rhapsody’

High-end post production facility, The Look along with its Mistika, was responsible for the stunning colour grading and finishing, of the epic Queen Concert film titled Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest ‘86 for Eagle Rock Entertainment and Queen Productions. As part of the successful 1986 Magic Tour, which was Freddie Mercury’s last, Hungary was included on the tour schedule. With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall, the landmark event marked the very first rock concert from the West to take place behind the Iron Curtain.

Hong Kong’s Post Production Office Group invests in SGO’s Mistika

Leading Hong Kong facility Post Production Office Group (PO Group), founded in 2003 by famous Hong Kong entrepreneur and actor, Nicholas Tse, has invested in Mistika’s technology. The Company is the largest post production house in Hong Kong, which grosses over one billion Hong Kong dollars annually with branches in Shanghai, Hong Kong and now in Beijing. PO Group purchased from SGO, a 4K Stereo Mistika System, a Mistika Assist Station and an SGO SAN to support their Stereo 3D and high end Colour Grading services for film and commercials projects for its newly launched Beijing branch.

SGO Mistika and London’s ONSIGHT Case Study: “Madam Butterfly 3D”

SGO’s Mistika was used at London’s ONSIGHT for the stereoscopic 3D post production of RealD and the Royal Opera House’s co-production of one of the world’s finest operas, Puccini’s Madam Butterfly in 3D for the first time ever. The sophisticated masterpiece entitled Madam Butterfly 3D was filmed last summer during live performances at the prestigious Covent Garden venue and released exclusively in RealD 3D-equipped theatres beginning spring 2012.
