Mistika used for stunning DI & Stereo 3D in The Adventures of Tintin, at Award-winning Park Road

SGO’s Mistika technology was used for all the DI and Stereo 3D post production by industry leading post production company Park Road Post in The Adventures of Tintin. All digital intermediate work in both 2D and Stereo 3D was achieved using Mistika, which included colour grading, conforming, convergence adjustments and hand-offs between shots. Directed by Academy Award® winner Steven Spielberg, the film is based on the series of books “The Adventures of Tintin” by Hergé and is also produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy, with Ken Kamins, Hergé Estate’s Nick Rodwell and Stephane Sperry as executive producers.

Preditors select Mistika for post production of Kylie Aphrodite – Les Folies in Stereo 3D and 2D

China’s Largest Film Group chooses Mistika for its DI and Stereo 3D film projects

In order to post produce and enhance the highest quality film making, world-class facility, Hualong Film Digital Production Company Ltd, a subsidiary of China Film Group, the world’s second largest film group, has invested in SGO’s Mistika post production system and SAN. The majority of Chinese film special effects are created by Hualong, on an annual basis, and Mistika will play an integral role in supporting the company’s existing current film project workflows.

Grand Prize at Dimension 3 goes to film produced on Mistika

Paris, France, 1 June 2011: SGO is delighted to announce that well known German Director, Wim Wenders’ Stereo 3D feature documentary film, titled PINA, was awarded the Grand Prize at 3D technology festival, Dimension 3, in Paris last month. SGO Mistika had a presence at Dimension 3 this year with various demonstrations taking place attracting great interest at their booth. Mistika was used from the beginning of pre-production and at the start of the post production process at PICTORION das werk for the project. PINA was the very first stereo 3D film ever to be shown at the Berlinale festival earlier this year in Germany.

Park Road Post and SGO strengthen their partnership

Wellington, New Zealand, 3 March 2011: Premier New Zealand-based facility, Park Road Post Production has purchased another four SGO Mistika 4K systems, including a Mistika Software License Agreement for the Weta Group, to enhance its existing Mistika-centric stereoscopic 3D production pipeline and meet the high demands for their upcoming work in stereo 3D. This significant investment quickly follows the recent purchase of two Mistika 4K systems last September, with the facility now hosting a total number of six powerful Mistika 4K workstations. Mistika now forms the nucleus of Park Road’s stereo 3D infrastructure, placing Mistika at the heart of their stereo 3D workflow.

PICTORION das werk selects Mistika for first 3D film to première Berinale

Germany, 11 February 2011 – SGO’s Mistika system was selected by PICTORION das werk and was at the heart of the post production process for the stereoscopic 3D for latest film “PINA”, directed by well known German director Wim Wenders. The world première of the film will take place in Berlin on the 13th of February at the 61st Berlinale Filmfestival, making history as one of the very first stereo 3D films ever to be shown at the festival. “PINA” will be shown in European cinemas at the end of February 2011.
