“The fact that we now have a system at our facility that can handle its own colour correction and Stereo 3D, conforming, finishing, DCP creation and even compositing, has made us choose Mistika to be at the centre our projects.”

Granada, Spain, 31 July 2012 –

Award-winning KANDOR Graphics, one of Europe’s foremost CG animation production studios has invested in a Mistika post production system. A technology company that produces high-end animated short and feature films, KANDOR chose Mistika for many reasons, one of which includes the fact that Mistika is powerful and offers unbeatable versatility in order to support animation feature films in 2D and Stereo 3D.

KANDOR Graphics is currently using Mistika for a stunning new Stereo 3D CGI feature film production titled Justin and the Knights of Valour. Antonio Banderas is a Company Partner, as well as producer and voice of one of the characters of the new production. Set in a magical world that children still dream of, Justin and the Knights of Valour is a story about the determination of a child to fulfill his dream: become a knight. It is a story about friendship, honour and courage. A heart-warming story filled with adventure, action and fun.

Director of KANDOR Graphics, Juan Molina says, “Mistika will be our pipeline’s backbone, in a way that we will be able to conform daily, regardless of the production status of each shot.” He continues, “The fact that we now have a system at our facility that can handle its own colour correction and Stereo 3D, conforming, finishing, DCP creation and even compositing, has made us choose Mistika to be at the centre our projects. Furthermore, SGO’s immediate after sales support and the access we are given to the development team at SGO, are factors we really appreciate.”

Javier Fernández, Director of Photography at KANDOR adds, “As a studio, Mistika’s capabilities have allowed us to reach unprecedented independence levels, opening a whole new world of creative possibilities.”

In the near future, KANDOR also has an exciting collaboration project lined up with Granada University in order to develop a new Master degree course on Post Production, with Mistika as a key tool and as added value technology for the project.

KANDOR Graphics has produced a range of films that transmit universal, timeless and cultural values, that have won the hearts of children and families. Among their productions, the most representative ones in terms of rewards and recognition include The Tell Tale Heart (2005) which won numerous awards and was shortlisted for an Oscar®; The Missing Lynx (2009) which won the BEST animation Goya in Spain, and also quickly followed by being shortlisted for a 2010 Oscar® Award and The Lady and the Reaper (2010) first 3D animated short in Spain which was nominated for an Oscar®.

KANDOR Graphics was founded in 1992 by a group of talented young engineers and innovative technical experts with the vision of bringing that magic into the animation world. The uniqueness of this company and the team can be felt in their films. KANDOR Graphics’ work environment is a perfect combination of incredible creative and aesthetic animation talent who utilise state of the art technology and software developed in house.

“SGO is proud to be associated with Kandor Graphics and we are delighted that they have invested in Mistika technology. KANDOR is achieving tremendous success and has been able to position itself well due to their quality story-telling ability, combined with artistic and technical expertise and flair, which is quickly making it one of Europe’s world-class leading animation production companies.” states Jose Luis Acha, Regional Sales Manager at SGO.
