The Megacine is a portable DDR designed to capture uncompressed SD/HD and Dual Link material direct from cameras like the Thompson Viper.

Megacine is a brand new mobile storage concept for DC (Digital Cinema), HD or SD sequences. It has been developed especially for use on film sets and outdoor locations.

This portable DDR field recorder offers small size, comfortable handling and up to eight hours of uncompressed recording time for image data. Nearly all data formats from DCSDI Dual Link down to SD can be stored.

At just 11.5 x 8 x 8 inches this field recorder has a recording capacity of 45 minutes in uncompressed, lossless HDTV resolution (10 bits RGB 4:4:4) 1080 / 25psf or DC resolution (12 bits 4:4:4 XYZ) 1080 / 24p.

The recorded sequences can be played back in the same quality as they are captured or they can be down-converted into other standards or frame rates.

An integrated TFT display allows you to review material on the spot. Clips are down converted in realtime for display.
