SGO Mistika made an
impact at IBC 2009 with advanced Stereoscopic 3D and
RED workflow capabilities resulting in new sales
London, UK, 28 October 2009: SGO is delighted
to announce that it has achieved exceptional results at IBC this
year including the sale of three Mistika Post Production Systems
at the show and more orders in the pipeline. Two of the
companies that purchased a Mistika system, which were announced
at IBC, included London’s On Sight and Soho’s Bird Studios.
SGO’s UK Reseller, Pixelution has also confirmed the sale of a
Mistika system to Post House Production Ltd, a leading
facilities company based in the Middle East.
Exciting new developments, including the increasing interest in
stereoscopic 3D have placed Mistika in the spotlight as the post
production system of choice for post facilities and production
companies looking to invest in a tool providing creative
excellence with real-time performance. Trade show audience
opinions, including senior figures from prominent key players in
the industry indicated that Mistika was by far the most powerful
system in the industry, especially with regards to its
stereoscopic 3D capabilities. Jon Lee, Technical Director at
Brighton TV, who recently installed a Mistika system also
stated: “Mistika is arguably the most powerful machine in the
market in terms of its grading, compositing and dual stream
throughput for stereoscopic post”.
The dedicated SGO team worked together to provide a professional
and memorable experience for visitors to the stand. Marketing
Director, Rafael Hernandez, along with his marketing team,
oversaw the whole project from start to finish delivering
tangible results with an inviting and impressive looking booth.
The appointment of Geoff Mills earlier this year, heading the
SGO UK office, also contributed significantly to the company's
ongoing success and growing recognition in the UK post
production arena. Geoff Mills and Brighton TV’s Jon Lee were
also invited by IBC TV News in Amsterdam to feature in a live
interview with well known Sky presenter, Rob Curling,
transmitting to various European television stations about
Mistika’s strengths in delivering high profile projects. (To

Mistika, runs on HP Z800 workstations with Intel processors, DVS
Centaurus II professional video cards, fibre channel disk arrays
and QLogic fibre channel cards. A 46“ JVC 3D display was also
showing stunning stereoscopic 3D footage of the Swan Lake
Ballet, courtesy of Brighton TV. Various demonstrations
including stereoscopic 3D, real-time native Red workflow,
grading and motion estimation were very compelling, resulting in
the SGO and Mistika brands becoming more well known and widely
respected in an increasingly demanding marketplace.
