ClipRecorder now with unique RS422 Sync Feature for frame-accurate control

DVC once more proves its leading role in the high-end AV market and expands the RS422-command-set to match today's needs of frame-accurate multi-player shows. The DVC ClipRecorder series (including Boxxster and the upcoming Boxxster LE) now supports additional Sony-RS422-commands for frame accurate syncing. Those commands can either be used for skipping (if ClipRecorder is behind) or doubling frames (if ClipRecorder is ahead). This way the ClipRecorder can be kept in sync with all different playback devices without the need of additional clocks (like blackburst) - even a frame-accurate playback between a DVD-player and a ClipRecorder is possible (as long as the DVD-player is capable of reporting back its current time-code). Here it doesn't play any role if the ClipRecorder is used as HD-SDI and/or DVI playback device.

The advantages and application-ranges are obvious:

* multi-screen or split-screen shows
* frame-accurate playback in non-standard rasters (i.e. 1280x1024@75)
* no additional wiring necessary (no need for separate genlock cabling)
* less vulnerable as no blackburst-generator or similar devices are needed
* uses simple standard RS422-Sony protocol (support for Odetics and Louth too)
